Standing Broad Jump mats in Singapore are traditionally made of rubber. However, they are prone to tears and cracking. This is because the old manufacturing method used large rubber crumbs from vehicle tyres rather than fine rubber powder.
We have improved the research and development process and use fine rubber powder recycled from the waste product during production of rubber soles and combined it with a new binder so that it is not prone to cracking and tearing.
In addition, you will find our mats can be folded at the edges without cracking and will return to its normal shape. This is the result of the improvement of the material and binder compared to old manufacturing methods.
It is 5mm thick to ensure the mat is durable. The ink used is applied via an industrial printer and cured using UV light, hence making it more durable than just regular paint.
With this new method of printing, we can include colours in the design template. To measure jumps quickly and easily using lined measurements:
- Every 5cm and 10cm lines are longer for quick reading
- 10cm is marked in "Blue"
- 5cm marked in "Red"
- 1cm marked in "White"
- The lines are extra thick so as to last longer
It starts measuring from 10cm, for children to build confidence in their skill.
This mat measures up to 300cm, which makes this a fantastic piece of equipment to measure performance and challenge children and adults.
As the mat is made of rubber, there will be a slight rubber smell. The smell will usually dissipate after it has been left in the open air.
